Front Bay Park
Wolfeboro, New Hampshire
Trail Type: Accessible, Walking, Running, Biking
As “America’s First Summer Resort,” the Town of Wolfeboro makes access to recreation a priority. Located on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, much of the seasonal activity focuses on water sports. However, a publicly owned 11 acre oasis of forest just minutes from a bustling downtown area was the ideal location for an accessible trail. Timber & Stone, LLC worked with the Town of Wolfeboro from the initial design phase through the ribbon cutting.
The resulting loop trail meanders through the forest and allows users to access the bay frontage of the property. Careful attention was focused on maintaining appropriate grades throughout the trail to allow for accessibility for all users. A centerpiece of the trail is the timber frame pavilion which was pre-fabricated in Vermont by Stauffer Woodworking and reassembled on site by Timber & Stone, LLC during the trail construction.
